Our Constitution Organized in 1881, The Dental Society of Western Pennsylvania was founded to encourage the improvement of public health; to advocate the profession of dentistry; and to embody the interest of both, the professional members, as well as, the public. A component society of the Pennsylvania Dental Association, the DSWP currently serves the membership of Pennsylvania's 10th District. There are nine society officers: president, president-elect, immediate past president, 1st vice president, 2nd vice president, treasurer, secretary, assistant secretary, and editor. These individual officers, branch directors, a PDA trustee, and an ADA trustee, comprise the Board of Directors, and actively govern the Dental Society.
